Law Enforcement Torch Run Central Route, Travel Team and Community Runs
The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) of Michigan celebrates its 29th anniversary in September with its 750-mile non-stop relay run September 13-17 from Copper Harbor in the Tip of the Upper Peninsula to Sterling Heights in the bottom of the Thumb. A special kick-off ceremony is scheduled for Treetops Resort in Gaylord at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010. The kick-off event includes a Community Run on the Tradition Course. Special Olympics Michigan is pleased to announce that three athletes and two coaches have been selected to attend the Special Olympics World Summer Games Athens 2011 from June 25 – July 4, 2011.
